Included are features found in no other robotic system:

"The Spycam" -- See and hear what you want, when you want, with live color picture and sound transmission to your TV. 2.4 GHz, 4-channel. Range 150'.
"The Claw" -- Build it to pick up a soda can, or a feather. Mount it horizontal or vertical to grab what you want.
"The Arm" -- Servo motors let you manipulate the action to reach high, low, and in-between.
All Terrain Tires -- Go anywhere, inside or outside, with six heavy-duty, gear-driven wheels.
6-channel hobby-class transmitter -- 4 analog and 2 digital channels offer maximum flexibility to control servos and provide exceptional stability to avoid frequency drift.
Also includes 4 servos, 24 gears, various coated heavy metal parts, cables/harnesses, tools, screws, nuts, bolts, etc.

VEXPLORER IS A ROBOTIC SYSTEM WITH A PEDIGREE

Vexplorer is part of the Vex system, already embedded in junior high school, high school, and college robotics classes. It is endorsed by FIRST *, NASA, Carnegie Mellon, and other high level organizations, and won the Best Innovation of Show award at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show. The Vexplorer mechanical parts are compatible with the Vex system and can be expanded with additional parts.

*FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded by Dean Kamen, and others to introduce students to the fun of science and technology.

Requires 10 AA and one 9 volt alkaline or rechargeable batteries (not included). For best performance we recommend using 700ma or greater lithium rechargeable batteries -- It's worth the investment for hours and hours of robotic mayhem.

Takes a little bit more than an hour thanks to some VERY tight spaces in which to work,but the payoff is fun. The cats HATE it.rnrnDon't count on using the software that comes with it,it's trialware that expired in 2008.
