Weird Slime Laboratory

An amazing breakthrough in the science of gooey grossness has been made! Now, your child can create a wide range of disgusting, slimy things while learning important, scientific facts. The Wild Science Weird Slime Laboratory gives kids the opportunity to use their analytical thinking skills while laughing hysterically at the uniquely yucky creations they develop and discover. Your child can enjoy making jelly worms, tapeworms, tadpole soup, dark red blood clots, and even realistic looking guts to spill onto the floor! Experimenting with colors and consistency, your child will develop hypotheses and test them through the creation of slimy concoctions.

All of the ideas in the Slime Lab are presented in a way to introduce kids to cool chemistry and prepare them for encountering these scientific ideas in school. Learning about cross-linked polymers, children will see how slime doesn?t like to follow the normal properties of matter; it breaks our expectations of how matter should behave. Even if your child is at a beginner level of working with science tools, he or she will have no problem working with this lab. Beginning with easier lessons, the skill sets are scaffolded to have activities build upon the knowledge learned in previous activities. The lab includes enough materials to repeat the experiments several times, and it is surprisingly easy to clean up when your child is done playing mad scientist.

• 50ml poly vinyl acetate (PVA)
• 4 stirring sticks
• 2 laboratory pipettes
• 1 measuring beaker
• 1 goo bank
• 1 pair of laboratory gloves
• 3 pairs of wobbly eyes
• 1 dust mask
• 1 plastic splash protector
• sodium tetraborate (borax)
• 2 - 5ml food coloring (green and red)
