You need to provide paper and pens, clear latex balloons (9 inch), safety goggles, kite string, tree or fence, tape, 2 bananas, 3 pencils, water, table. Just add kids and see the science magicians come to life!

Information about the science behind the kit: The superabsorbent water gel is the same polymer used to absorb liquid in our Baby Diaper Secret kit. If you looked under a microscope at the molecules of the superabsorbent material, you'd discover that they're linked in a really long chain. These identical molecules absorb water, lots and lots of water! Farmers also mix a crystal form of this polymer with their soil to retain water in years of drought.

More information: Adding salt to the absorbed water will break down the superabsorbent polymer and release the water. Watch out! The gel will turn back into water very quickly!
