Your young transportation engineer can design -- and re-design and re-design -- a fun-meets-function HEXBUG superhighway with this Nano Elevation Habitat Set!
The most exciting feature of the set is the array of corkscrews your child can create with the bright-orange curved ramp pieces, letting them send their Nanos spiraling up and down through all the levels. The 'standoff' upright supports let your child stack the 4 included hexagonal cells and elevate the highway at any point as they design its twists and turns. As they use all their creativity and resourcefulness to engineer the track, your child can experiment with doubling the path back over itself, adding hairpins curves, differing placement of the hex cells, and more.
Each hex cell has slide-open/closed orange 'doors' that let your child control where the Nanos may roam. Once inside a cell, the Nanos scurry around, change direction when they encounter a wall, scurry till they find an open 'door,' and start all over again -- they even flip themselves over when they take a tumble! The legs don't mechanically move; the motion is caused by vibration which is produced by rapid up/down motion of an internal counterweight, the rotation of which also helps the robot flip right-side-up.
This set includes two rare 'mutation' Nanos in separate storage tubes, plus 52 pieces that your child can easily connect in many different configurations.
HEXBUG Nanos each require one AG13 battery (included). Pieces interconnect with all other HEXBUG Nano habitat sets.
Ages 3 and up.
