HEXBUG applies their fun-meets-function robotics approach to a high-energy bot-battle in our Nano 'Bridge Battle' Habitat Set! Your HEXBUG Nano collector will send their Nano bots out through one-way doors from opposite sides of the bridge for a winner-takes-all battle: as their bots buzz around, they'll knock each other off the bridge platform until only one remains on the bridge to reign supreme.
As with the original Habitat Set, your child's creativity and resourcefulness come into play as they experiment with different configurations in which to connect the hex cells, with the same slide-open/closed orange doors that control where the Nanos may roam. For example, your child can configure the set such that the Nanos knocked off the bridge will fall onto hex-cell 'rooms' on either side below, then move about through the rest of your child's custom course. This set offers your child even more design options with an extra hex cell as well as more curved connecting pieces.
Once inside a hex cell, the HEXBUG Nanos scurry around, change direction when they encounter a wall, scurry some more until they find an open 'door,' then start all over again. The Nanos even flip themselves over when they take a tumble! The scientific secret to the Nano's movement? The legs don't mechanically move; instead, the motion is caused by vibration which is in turn produced by a very rapid up/down motion of an internal counterweight, the rotation of which also helps the robot flip itself right-side-up.
This set includes two rare 'mutation' Nanos in their own storage tubes, plus 29 pieces that are easy for your child to connect in any configuration:
Hexbug Nanos each require one AG13 battery (included). Pieces interconnect with all other HEXBUG Nano habitat sets.
Let the Bridge Battles begin--but be advised that your child and their friends may never want them to end!
Ages 3 and up.
