My First Lab Duo Scope

My First Lab Duo-Scope is aptly named because it has the functionality of two different kinds of microscopes. Unlike others, which allow children to either view slides at a high-magnification level or objects at a low magnification level, this two-in-one combination microscope has the diversity to function as two separate scientific instruments. Coupled with its high-quality construction featuring real glass optical lenses, the Duo-Scope is an excellent selection for children with a beginning or more developed serious interest in science and microscopy.

Two LED lights give young scientists the ability to light the microscope's stage from above or below. While lighting the stage from below, the Duo-Scope works like a traditional, high-magnification, compound microscope. Slides are prepared with small, translucent specimens, and the light illuminates them for clear viewing through the microscope's eyepiece. This microscope's diversity is demonstrated in its ability to also view larger, three dimensional objects at a lower level of magnification. Turning on the top LED transforms the traditional microscope into a type of dissecting or stereo microscope with objects being illuminated from above. Children love the ability to put nearly anything they find onto the microscope's stage for viewing at three levels of magnification, and parents love seeing their children focused and enjoying a hands-on and more traditional science tool.
