Technology and the time tested art of microscopy meet with My First Lab Ultimate Digital Microscope. Innovative design and diversity allow it to be used like a traditional compound microscope, but the digital eyepiece converts it into a high-tech magnification device that can easily be connected to a computer. Even though it was designed to be an entry level microscope for kids, its high-quality components also make it an excellent tool for the classroom. Professionally constructed, the microscope features a durable metal body and real glass optical lenses, giving children crystal clear views of each specimen they decide to examine. Packaged as a complete set for beginners, with prepared slides and all of the necessary tools for kids to prepare their own slides, the Ultimate Digital Microscope even has built-in rechargeable batteries to use the LED light when taking the microscope outside for field observations.
Many of the images children view with the microscope can be indescribable, but now kids don't have to worry about trying to describe what they see. Attaching the digital microscope eyepiece and connecting it to a computer's USB port, images will be displayed in full color for everybody to see on the computer's screen. As children explore the microscopic world, they can use the included software to save their favorite images and even edit and email them to share with friends. Teachers can use My First Lab Ultimate Digital Microscope in class to teach proper microscope handling skills while projecting images to more easily show children different features of plant cells, animal cells, and other microscopic specimen. Plus, the digital adapter makes it much easier for competitive siblings to share with one another without having to argue about who gets to look first.
This same set is also available as a student microscope (without the digital adapter).

How to Install the Digital Microscope Eyepiece
Begin by removing the standard 10X eyepiece from the Microscope. Sometimes this eyepiece is locked on, and you will have to look and feel around the underside of the eyetube, just under the eyepiece joint. You should find a small screw set in the tube that holds the eyepiece in place and prevents it from falling out or getting lost (mainly designed for classroom settings). Use a tiny eyeglasses-type screwdriver to loosen this screw slightly (try not to fully remove the screw or it may get lost -- but the microscope will still function just fine without it), and the entire eyepiece will slide out, leaving you with an open tube. The camera then fits into the empty eyetube. If you want to use the camera with a stereo microscope, which typically has larger eyetube diameter, then use the included adapter.
